Complex Machining

Bayshore (Long Island), New York

Complex Machining Sector (CMS): Consisting of Air Industries Machining Corporation and Nassau Tool Works, our CMS division specializes in the machining and assembly of flight critical items, including hard metals. Core competencies include 5-axis milling, N/C turning, deep-hole drilling, hydraulic testing, and high-speed machining.

Corporate Headquarters Air Industries Group: AIRI

Air Industries Machining Corporation has evolved over fifty-years from a machine shop producing individual parts into a supplier of increasingly sophisticated assemblies for the aerospace industry. Its products include mechanical and electro-mechanical flight control and flight-critical sub-assemblies, arresting gear for carrier-based aircraft, complete landing gear, and landing gear components. With customers that include some of the world’s most prominent aerospace OEMs, its products are imbedded in over 20 aircraft platforms, including flight safety components for the Black Hawk helicopter and complete landing gear for the E-2D Advanced Hawkeye.

Nassau Tool Works was established in 1959. Over its long history the company has made parts and sub-assemblies for a range of military and civilian aircraft, as well as for the oil extraction and power generation industries. In 2012 Air Industries acquired Nassau Tool Works and has greatly expanded the subsidiary’s product offering. Nassau Tool Works now supplies components that can be used to repair landing gear as well as complete landing gear for replacement on aircraft. Nassau Tool Works is approved by Hill Air Force Base to manufacture parts, sub-assemblies, and complete landing gear for the F-16 Fighting Falcon, and is licensed by the OEM to manufacture parts, sub-assemblies, and complete landing gear for the F-18 Hornet.

In 2018, Nassau Tool Works’ operations were integrated into Air Industries Group’s Bay Shore, NY, facility, bringing extensive turning and deep-hole drilling capability, and facilitating the milling, turning, boring, and deep-hole drilling of large, complex and hard metal aircraft parts.

Our Complex Machining capabilities include large machining and turning; complex milled parts; deep-hole drilling; machining of hard metals, such as stainless steel, alloy steel, titanium and Inconel; and high-speed machining of aluminum. Applications for these skills include:
